I am one Happy Mother!

It is official...my Paige is potty trained!! She has been doing excellent for over a week now, so I feel I can say it is permanent. It was easier then I thought. Once I got past the first two days of pure obstinance, she did a great job. She even goes through the night! Ok...now I am ready for #3.

Have I mentioned lately that I HATE my apartments!! Man, I really really hate them.
I guess what I hate the most is that just when you think things are going well...they are all rented, you have had no calls with problems or complaints and THEN YOU GET SMACKED ON THE SIDE OF THE HEAD!!

I have this handyman. Is is slow, but he is CHEAP...oh and a little stupid! But, I will get a call from a tenant who has a leak so I call him. This easy leak then turns into having to rip the Sheetrock out, replace some pipes, patch the Sheetrock and then repaint. What a joke!!
Then, I get a call from another tenant that the electric Hot Water heater is not working. I send Mr. Bonehead down there. He finds that breakers are bad, but can not find any to replace it with. Then I hear that my idiot tenants are building fires in the fireplace...I told them not too!! Oh, one of the tenants has been committed to some mental hospital...wants to default...could it get any better?

Easter Recap...

As my kids are getting older, these Holiday's get more and more fun. They also get to be alot more work. Jacob and Paige were all stoked about the Easter Bunny thing, which means we really have to figure out just what our family traditions are going to be.

I think we have taken a little bit from Neils childhood and a little bit from mine. As a child, I never remember Easter egg hunts or hunting for our Easter baskets. I just remember the thousands and thousands pieces of candy that were thrown all over the rooms. I remember trails of jelly beans down the hallways leading to the mother load in the family room. Then it was a mad rush of all my brother and sisters to see who could gather the largest pile in the shortest amount of time. Of course, every year came with it share of "That's not fair!" and "He got more then me!"

I never remember a new Easter dress or any particular Easter gift...just alot of candy. My siblings may attest to something different.
So, as we come up with our own traditions, I felt it was important to get my girls a new Easter Dress each year. I remember the other girls showing up for church on Easter morning in their new white hats, white gloves and new purse all to match. So, Paige got her new Easter dress again this year. Jacob got a new suit...maybe not the same, but he still looks handsome.

We got together with Neils family on Sunday for dinner and an Easter Egg hunt. Paige has learned this year what it was all about and has finally stopped having to open EVERY egg as she comes across it to see what was inside. This year they both were in a mad rush for as many eggs as possible.

Hope everyone's Easter was happy and memorable.

I AM FINALLY DONE!!!

It has only taken me a year, but I am officially done with my real estate classes. I wanted to get my real estate license to buy and sell investment properties for Hubby and I. It has been a LONG road... alot longer then it should have been! But, I am officially done!

Well, now I have to study up and take my national test for the board of Realtors, then find a broker who not charge me an arm and a leg to buy and sell my own properties...ok, then I will be done!

But at least NO MORE CLASSES!! YEA!!

Here are some pictures of the improvement we did to our stairs. Turned out nice.

My future Police Officer

These guns were a Christmas Present this last December. Little did we know how much of a hit they were going to be. He wears them ALL the time!! I mean... ALL THE TIME!! He wakes up in the morning and puts them on the pants he is going to wear that day. He wears them to the grocery store, to the Dr. Appointments, and he even wore them into Kindergarten registration yesterday. He tells me how when he gets bigger, he is going to fight the "bad guys" just like his dad. That idea makes me a little nervous, but it really is cute how much Jacob looks up to his dad

It is official

IT IS A GIRL!!!
We have known for about a month now that we were having a girl, but I wanted to wait for my "official" Dr. visit to announce. When we were pregnant with Jacob, I was told twice, he was a girl, just to find out after all the pink was bought, otherwise. So, I have held it in just to hear it one more time.

Jacob REALLY REALLY wanted a brother. So much so, that he had a name and would talk about the games they were going to play. He had this all planned out in his mind. I tried to tell him that Heavenly Father does not always send us what we ask for. So, Jacob started praying for a brother. For his sake, I was hoping for a boy. I did not want to deal with his dreams being crushed.

A few weeks back, my sweet sister in law, who is an ultrasound tech, let us all come and see her at work so she could check this baby out. I could tell by the look on her face, the news was not what we were thinking. As Heather would say, "oh look Jacob, the baby is waving at you..." he would reply... "but, is it a boy?" We decided not to talk to him about it right there. We knew that this news was something he was going to have to warm up to.

When we tried to break the news, we got the crying and denial that we expected. However, it was not until his Dad (smart man that he is) told Jacob just how much the two of them have in common. It went something like this....

Dad - "Jacob, you and I are so much alike"
Jacob - "Yea Dad. I know. We both have short hair. "
Dad - "Yea that right. We both like guns."
Jacob - "Yep...And we both like fishing..."
Dad - "That's right. You know what else we have that is the same. We both are going to have two sisters!"
Jacob's eyes get really big and finally that smile starts to spread across his face.
Jacob - "YEA!!"

Leave it to the dad's to know when to say the right things.

Now, things are fine and he has adjusted to the idea. I think he is a little excited about it.
